Refund Policy
1. Introduction
At TAPTIP (PTY) LTD, every tip represents a voluntary payment made by a customer to recognise and reward excellent service.
This Refund Policy explains when a refund may be considered, how to request one, and how TAPTIP (PTY) LTD handles refunds, reversals, chargebacks, and unauthorised transactions.
This Policy applies to payments made through TAPTIP (PTY) LTD and should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
2. When Refunds May Be Considered
A refund may be considered in circumstances including:
- a duplicate payment;
- an incorrect amount caused by a technical or processing error;
- an unauthorised transaction;
- a TAPTIP (PTY) LTD technical fault that resulted in an incorrect payment; or
- another circumstance where TAPTIP (PTY) LTD determines that a refund is appropriate or where applicable law or payment-provider rules require it.
3. When Refunds Are Generally Not Available
Because tips are voluntary payments, a refund will generally not be provided simply because a customer changes their mind after voluntarily completing a tip.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
4. Requesting a Refund
If you believe you qualify for a refund, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after the transaction. Where reasonably possible, requests should be submitted within 30 days of the transaction.
This timeframe does not limit any rights you may have under applicable law or the rules of the relevant payment provider or card scheme.
To help us investigate a request, we may ask for the transaction reference, date and time of the payment, amount paid, the TAPTIP (PTY) LTD identifier used, and other reasonable information needed to verify the transaction. Do not send us your full card number or card security code.
5. Investigation Process
Refund requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We may review transaction records, payment-provider information, technical logs, account information, security records, and other information reasonably necessary to establish what happened.
We may request additional information or documentation where reasonably necessary. A refund may be declined where the transaction appears valid, where information provided cannot be verified, or where a refund would be inconsistent with applicable law or payment-provider requirements.
6. Chargebacks and Unauthorised Transactions
If you believe a payment was unauthorised, you should contact TAPTIP (PTY) LTD promptly and may also contact your bank or card issuer in accordance with their procedures.
Where a payment provider or card issuer initiates a reversal, chargeback, or other dispute process, the transaction may be reviewed in accordance with applicable payment-provider, card-network, and legal procedures.
7. Processing Approved Refunds
If a refund is approved, it will normally be processed through the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Refund timing may vary depending on the payment provider, card issuer, bank, and other financial institutions involved. TAPTIP (PTY) LTD cannot guarantee a specific time for funds to appear in a customer's account.
8. Fraud Prevention
TAPTIP (PTY) LTD may delay, restrict, or refuse a refund where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, abuse, manipulation, or other unlawful activity, subject to applicable law.
We may share relevant information with payment providers, financial institutions, professional advisers, regulators, or law-enforcement authorities where legally permitted or required.
9. Payment Provider
Yoco is the proposed payment provider. TAPTIP (PTY) LTD has not yet applied for or received approval, and real checkout remains closed. Payment-provider rules and procedures may apply to payments, refunds, reversals, disputes, and chargebacks.
TAPTIP (PTY) LTD does not store customers' full debit or credit card details on its own servers. The payment provider may collect and process payment information under its own privacy notice, security controls, terms, and legal obligations.
Vest and badge orders
For an incorrect, damaged or defective item, or a cancellation request, use our problem and refund form and include the order reference. We will review the order and explain the next steps. Do not send a return until you have received return instructions.
You may return an unused vest within 7 days of receiving it, provided the badge has not been activated. Return shipping is at the buyer's cost. Refunds are paid within 7 business days of us receiving the vest. A faulty vest will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our cost. Nothing here excludes applicable statutory rights.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on the TAPTIP (PTY) LTD website with the date of the most recent revision.
